Clearing the Chaos

. . . Where Writing Works

NWP

As a mother and future teacher I am devastated that the leaders of our country have overlooked the National Writing Project for what it is, a link to a better future for America. I am yet a student, but was invited to participate in the local chapter of the NWP and welcomed not as a student but a colleague. Educators who are part of the NWP are working to better prepare themselves for each and every student. They give their all to education. Their greatest desires are not for themselves but for their students to write as freely as they speak. Our future is in the hands of the American teacher.

Each year we hear how the United States is falling behind in the education game and each year education takes cuts. I didn’t go to school to be an educator for the money, I chose education because I want to contribute to tomorrow. I want to teach children a love for learning and give them a desire to learn outside of a classroom. In order to be the best I can be, I need to continue learning and the NWP is place for this. A place where teachers can grow and learn from each other. A place where learning begins and expands. A place where teachers can grow to better their students. A place where teachers, new and seasoned, can join together to better tomorrow.

Dear congressmen, I ask that you consider tomorrow.
